At 1:42 in this video [broken link – Sep 2024], we are treated to the economic arguments for the Donald Trump golf course at Menie Estate. Bob Collier of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce makes a startling claim.

“Why Trump? Because the brand name is so strong and it will pull in those overseas visitors – overseas visitors who are linked to our key current sector oil and gas – the markets that they come from are the same markets we’re interested in golf – so there’s a symmetry there to the proposal.”

Has Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce any idea of where the global economy is headed?
